The High Priestess:
Description

The High Priestess wears a celestial crown and holds the scroll of Divine wisdom and law. She sits between two pillars, the black one with a “B” representing earthly stability, and the white one with a “J” representing spiritual purity. She sits outside, before a sea of knowledge, unhindered from the wisdom of the cosmos that passes through her and onto Earth. She is the gateway to the cosmos, the veil itself, with her robes rolling down like water, cradling the crescent moon at her feet. She sits before a curtain of pomegranates, representing the cycling nature of life and death and the many layers of Divine knowledge.

The High Priestess:
Upright Meaning

Drawn upright, The High Priestess places you in a position of power. She is representative of the divine guidance that is coming through, gently nudging you to listen to your own intuitive knowing. As much as we may wish to search outside ourselves for validation, we must come to trust our own inner compass.

You may be at a turning point in your spirituality where clarity is coming in fast. Look for ways you can step into this power to help validate others who might otherwise feel lost and confused in the web of physical world distress.

If you are having doubts, The High Priestess urges you to tune into your internal wisdom. Pick up any spiritual practices you may have set to the side and recommit to honing your third eye.

The High Priestess:
Reversed Meaning

When reversed, The High Priestess points to abandoned spiritual practices. If you find you are hitting multiple roadblocks, it may be that you are not tuning into your internal voice. This hard stop is the Divine’s way of communicating that you have lost touch with your inner guidance system. Perhaps your avoidance was triggered by fear following a tragic event, a heartbreak, or other form of loss. The High Priestess reversed challenges you to lean into your pain to break through with clarity.

Staying closed off and afraid for too long leads to spiritual and mental decline, producing symptoms of paranoia, conspiracy, and distrust. You will find the light within. Just as the High Priestess is the still and silent listener, pull your energy inward.
